In a highly anticipated, but strangely low-key announcement, Apple Computer has announced their latest Intel-based computer, the MacBook. The MacBook is the replacement for the iBook, and features the Intel Core Duo microprocessor that also fuels the most recent iMac and the MacBook Pro.

For the first time in many years, Apple is making a laptop available in black. The MacBook is available in either classic white or in black -- the last computer to be available in black was the Powerbook G3 "Pismo." Features of the new MacBook are a 13" widescreen display, 1.83 Ghz or 2.0 Ghz Core Duo processor, built-in iSight camera, built in 54 Airport Extreme wireless, 60GB or 80 GB hard drive, up to 2 Gig RAM, mag-safe power adapter, and Intel GMA 950 Graphics with 64 MB of RAM.
