Bio:
The 60-Watt Project is a songwriting collective focused on writing commercially-viable tunes to pitch to industry reps via Taxi. The project is the brainchild of John Parker (aka blamm here at MacJams) who has resolved to have a song accepted by a publisher by the end of 2009 (if not several songs) and believes that the talent pool at MacJams can make that goal a reality.
The current rules of the 60-Watt Project are as follows (and are subject to change as things evolve):
1) Songs must be written to appeal to current industry wants and needs. Those targeting specific solicitations by Taxi are best. (http://www.taxi.com/industry.php)
2) All songs must be at least co-written by a Taxi member. Only Taxi members can submit to their industry listings, so this is really just a rule of practicality. If there are any other Taxi members in the MacJams community, please let us know so we can spread ourselves around a bit.
3) All writing credits are to be formalized between the songwriters prior to any song submissions to Taxi.
4) Have fun.
(For those wishing to watch from the sidelines, this entire project will be documented as it progresses @ 60-watt.com.)
