Bio:
Wow, haven't updated this in a while. I'm a nineteen-year-old Torontonian working my way through school and making music on the side, though I hope to make it a career. I tend to keep to the Trance (Most of the old stuff, CXIL, Belladonna, etc) and D&B (Icebreaker, 1253 Leagues, Lio Lita, etc) side of things, though I have been known to make a foray into Ambient (Sniper) or Orchestral (Chestnut Tree Café, Eighty-Four), with mixed success. I also tend to blend the above genres when I can (DNA, or Drum and Ambient, Veritamoria and Waltz of the Dead, Capsaicin, etc). I have very, very little experience writing lyrics, and so most of the time I don't attempt it. That said, I do try once in a while, and have composed lyrics for The Clock is Ticking (Singing about the task of trying to keep with the ridiculous workload of an understaffed music department at school), Cupid (About the little cherub himself), and Shift (Themed around its previous title for a while, The Duel). As high-end audio recording is beyond my capability hardware-wise at the moment, I can't even attempt to record anything, not to mention the fact that I can't sing myself. I compose mostly instrumentals, and mostly by trial-and-error, figuring out what sounds good with what else. I don't sit down with an idea, I sit down and the idea develops. This approach is a double-edged sword: I could be done the core arrangement of a song in half an hour (See Nox and Sniper for examples of this), or the final could be sitting incomplete for weeks or more (ABEC 11 had this problem, Shift/The Duel still does after over a year and a half, and some songs like Veritamoria took a while to hammer out as well).

Music Background
Music Skills
Some self-taught keyboarding experience, bolstered by a MIDI class in high school, intermediate Clarinet playing experience, all taught since Grade 9 during instrumental music classes. Worked in GarageBand since September 2004, had some experience on a friend's computer a few months before that. Upgraded to Logic Express at Christmas in 2005, used it ever since. I experiment with synths as I acquire them -- I can sling around in Vanguard's environment most comfortably at the moment.
