Music was my first love but I realized I was not talented enough to make a living (oh well!). Nevertheless, I have rediscovered music and time flies when playing my piano. Connecting my Mac to my Yamaha keyboard has opened new and exciting possibilities. My heroes: Bach, Chopin, Beethoven and Vivaldi. Seeing Handel's burial place at Westminster Abby brought tears to my eyes, and look with great anticipation to someday visit Leipzig, were Bach (the man himself!) was the Kantor at the Saint Thomas School. Modern heroes: John Williams, Yo Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Kiri Tekenawa, Maurice Andre. I was probably one the first ones buying (then Walter) Carlos Switched on Bach. Still have the LP somewhere. Music Background
Took piano lessons from age 5 through 15. As a teenager, I was one of the pianists for the school choir. Played on an intermittent basis afterwards, most of it in churches or weddings. As far as music theory goes, it has been a long time since I reviewed it, but I am comfortable playing by ear and can follow a tune. My children love music as well: My daughter just passed her certificate of merit level 10(piano) and also plays the flute. My youngest son plays the violin. Both do pretty well. (better than me I think). My oldest is very good with his Ipod!
Music Skills
Piano (mainly classical). Love and play some Jazz, Blues and Dixie also, although I am not as good as I would like.
