♫♫ Music is life... ♫♫ ⎝⏠⏝⏠
AND... music production/sound engineering/Djing/radio & socializing.
In my opinion, most people have affection for music, whether it is a hobby or a part of their career. I soon realised that my interest went far beyond that of most of my other female friends. I would spend endless hours listening to music as I was fascinated by the passion and imagination put into it. The desire that began as a listener soon convinced me that I wanted to become more involved in the practice, creativity and composition of music. I proceeded to teach myself how to mix and bought a set of decks and some audio equipment and followed this with a course of beginner Piano lessons.
This really excited and inspired me to want to compose my own music. I followed this by applying to a local Music Technology college, Deep Blue Sound who have one of the most equipped facilities in the country, with state of the art technology and plenty of great old, analogue equipment such as Studer tape machines, classic synths and mics as well as a large variety of mixing desks.
Sound design is of great interest to me, I get really excited and enthused when it comes to creating original sounds - particularly using analogue synths.
My musical taste varies greatly....House, Breaks, Experimental, DnB, Trance, Dubstep, bass/techno, Dub/reggae, Psychedelic, Sonic Art, Musique Concrete, Ambient, Alternative, Rock, Indie, Metal, Old Skool Hip-Hop, Classical and a wee bit of Pop, funk and Irish folk.
I have my own radio show on eatmusic called Beats N pieces check out the station!! I also run an open deck night once a month in Plymouth. (please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you're interested in a set)
Any of you producers out there... send me your beats so I can play them on the radio!! : )
