Bio:
Started playing guitar in mid teens and still have my original Eco acoustic although its been through the wars a bit (snapped the head off at one point and my Dad - god bless him managed to repair it). Played in various bands along the way. I've always dabbled in recording preferably behind the desk rather than in front of it. In mid 80's set up recoding studio in my hometown Middleton with 2 other guys Bob and Darrell just as the Manchester Music scene was about to take off. Not only a studio but a rehearsal facility we played host to bands such as The Chameleons, The Mock Turtles, The Fall, Lisa Stansfield and many more local bands. After a severe bout of flu in 1990 and within the space of a few weeks I lost all of my hearing in my left ear and a percentage of my right ear the void being filled with insessant tinnitus (white noise). I lost interest in all things musical mainly because a lot of what I was listening to I couldn't make sense of - even familar pieces. However over the last few years I have started getting back into playing and writing and making the best of what hearing I've retained. Discovering GarageBand and Logic has been an absolute revelation and has provided me with an ideal tool to create pieces - even though I am for the moment reliant on other people's efforts (loops). So please forgive the lack of mixing, strange bass lines and random levels. Whatever you do look after your hearing it's one of those things we all take for granted and it's only when something happens to it you begin to understand what a precious gift it is.
