Bio:
Montgomery California is the long-distance "band" comprised of Allen Dean and Faelin (please note that Jason is taking some time to handle some issues in his life, but both plan to keep the MC machine churning) We plan to continue posting the same quality of rockin' tunes we have come to be known for. We have been steadily making music for right at a year now, and feel that our songs are really coming into their own. The process of arranging and writing has definitely become more "band-like," with both members providing key input to posting the best songs possible. We both do our best to contribute equally to the songs. With there being only the two of us, there is no room for slackers. We also do our best for the song... there is no "I" here, only "WE" and "the song". We are a true team and collaborative effort, working hard to bring only the best hard-rocking tunes to this community. Please feel free to check out our official homepage In the past year, we have been fortunate to be played on several podcasts the world over. We also continue to receive airplay on 95.1 The Fox in Montgomery, AL. We have also been the guest musicians on the Indie Radio Chattanooga podcast and are streamed on their affiliate garagerock101.net. You can find and listen to the show on their site, or look for the link to their podcast directory in iTunes or whatever you use and download the show. That was a true honor. Thanks JimiLee!!! ~ We recently had the honor of having one of our songs mastered using a program called T-Racks 24 mastering software. A true friend of ours, Chris Cihon did the master for us, and we feel it definitely sounds great! We are saddened at the loss of such a great musician to the Mac Jams community, and we hope for his quick return to doing music. Thank you to all whom were able to donate for our new mastering program! We are in the process of figuring it all out. It would seem I need to remix everything, because, as a novice, I am learning things every day about how hot to make the mix prior to mastering. So, as a result, all our mixes are too hot, and need some TLC. We plan to remix in logic as well, 'cause there are way more goodies to play with...heh. Agian, thanks, everyone, and keep the metal flame burning! ~ Allen Dean *ALL SONGS COPYRIGHT 2007&2008*ALLEN DEAN & JASON WHITMAN*ALL RIGHTS RESERVED*USE BY PERMISSION ONLY*

Music Skills
Allen Dean; tons of years spent shredding and screaming all over this great united states, playing guitar, bass, singing, and minor keyboard playing
Jason Whitman: has spent years playing guitar for the fleeing masses... also all over this great country. He also plays bass, and less-than-adequate hunt and peck keyboards.
Both artists feel that this MC project has pushed each of them to go beyond his own comfort zones into seemingly uncharted territory. Allen has an incredible ear and exacting taste as far as mixing and composition go. And Jason has a unique style of composition that pushes Allen in directions he might not have normally gone.
Allen is "the brains" taking Jason's concepts and giving them direction and purpose.
As a whole, both Allen and Jason feel like MC pushes them both to be better musicians and producers.
With every song, we get closer to achieving unique blend of the best there was in late 80's metal, and the best of 90's hard hitting rock.
Music Hardware
Allen Dean Plays Ibanez electrics and acoustics exclusively enough to garner an endorsement, in case the Ibanez folks get to this site...He runs all his electric guitars through his Line6 Podxt, or occasionally mic'ing his Line 6 Spyder ll 1x12 amp with a shure sm57. He runs his bass guitar and his Ovation acoustic 12 string through his M-Audio Firewire Solo audio interface.Heis main acoustic, however, is his AEOL10 by Ibanez, which has the ability to be recorded sterep, via an 1/4 inch and low z jack built in. very cool... He sings through an MXL990 vocal mic. " I like the way the 990 can be used as a very good vocal mic as well as a nice room mic, for the ' live' feel i love so much." He bangs away at an M-Audio 49e usb keyboard. Finally listening to his mixes through a pair of M-Audio DX4 monitors atop Auralex noise reducing blocks for improved sound and vibration dampening. He writes his lyrics in word for mac.. He drinks Diet Pepsi and Sugar Free Red Bull as to watch the waist line, yet has a love of sunflower seeds while mixing.
Jason uses a Yamaha MagicStomp II for direct recording. His arsenal includes a custom tele-style guitar, and ibanez 6-string electric, a takamine acoustic, a Rogue 5-String bass, thanks to Allen, a sennhauser mic, a Blue Snowball USB Mic. and a Peavy KB/A 15 Amp. Not a fan of diet products, Jason prefers direct caffeine injections. Jason uses his Word Processing applications for all his musical/lyrical needs cuz his handwriting is so bad, even he cannot read it!
Music Software
Allen Dean uses Garageband4 for all his recordingness, while secretly trying to talk his wife into purchasing logic. he drums with Drums on Demand loops, and is considering going with EZdrummer as money permits...
Jason uses Garageband 4 for recordings, and Drums on Demand loops, and the cattle-prod Allen beats him with to "gently" coerce him into using them more efficiently.
