Bio:
It's Christmas time in Michigan...snow on the ground, the lakes are starting to freeze over, and the Woofers are busy recording surf music. We used to be a 5-piece, and now we stand as 4. Jimmy Z, our drummer, moved up to Northport so Andy moved behind the drumkit and Steve and Dan learned how to surf. Ken can play anything. Hope you enjoy our music. Andy and the Woofers

Music Background Ken (bass) can read music, but he's the only guy in the band who can do that. He played in variety and polka bands in college to earn his way through undergrad and medical schools. Dan (harp, guitar, keyboard) took a Music Theory class at Grand Valley State University but had never been in a band. Jim took drum lessons when he was a kid and played at Grand Rapids Christian High School in a band. Steve didn't play much guitar until he hooked up with the 4 original Woofers. Andy wasn't a player until he talked Jim and Ken into playing a party at Grand Rapids Yacht Club.
Music Skills Dan can play the harmonica right side up and upside down, but it sounds so much better right side up. Everything is, like, backwards the other way. Jimmy knows the words to...let's see...zero songs. Ken is our best player - listen to his bass lines - you'll be impressed. Steve has improved more than anybody in the band...might have something to do with practice. Andy seems to be able to write music about appliances.
Music Hardware We record all of our own music on a Korg 16-track in Stevie's garage. Final vocals are laid down at Audio Bay Studio in Rockford, MI.
Music Software We use ProTools.
