Music Background
I've been playing guitar and singing songs for people since the mid sixties, taught myself some other instruments, some studio skills, and songwriting craft along the way. My listening tastes are eclectic, but I tend to favor acoustic music the most. I've taught some guitar, played in a couple of bands. Mostly I consider myself a songwriter seeking time to hone my craft someday.
Music Skills
I sing, play guitars, mandolin, bass, plus a little on the penny whistle, flute, banjo and keyboard.
Music Hardware
Instruments: Giannini Craviola 6-string and 12-string, '73 Les Paul Deluxe, Fender Musicmaster bass, Rogue A-style Mandolin and an off-brand Octave Mando, an old Crestline 6-string, a GoodTime 5-string Banjo, half-a-dozen whistles, an old Armstong flute, a flea-market fiddle, a Charrango, a hand-built 4-string Gittern, a Yamaha Clavinova and (my very first ever) — a 1960 Stella "Spanish" guitar. I also have 8 or ten microphones, including Shure SM57s and RE-10s, a few Altecs; in the studio I'm running an old Sunn 12-channel mixer (hoping to upgrade soon). My guitar amp is a Peavy Backstage (wonderful little amp).
Music Software
Up to now I've been using ProTools LE 5.x on an old G3 beige box, but recently discovered Garageband 2.x and beginning to dig that. I may upgrade the ProTools, but it depends on what I can get for a DAW - hopefully something with FireWire.
