Bio:
phyllomania, which means, leaves growing in unusual numbers or places, is a singer and songwriter, formerly of the Cambridge (MA) scene. She wrote her first song, Crazy Kid, at age 11, on the piano. She has played piano ever since and has recently begun teaching piano to adults. She enjoyed a brief stint in stage band on the bassoon. At college, Ed Hannifin graciously took her under his musical wing, keeping her from languishing in utter ignorance and mundanity (?) for the rest of her days. He also taught her her first guitar chords! She served for ten-ish years in the trio Wheatstone Bridge, where she learned three-part harmonies, how to adjust someone's back, and a million words for vomit. Most recently she graduated cum loud from the quintet Purple Martin, which featured electric folk originals. Currently nestled in a beautiful spot in mid-coast Maine, she is learning the frame drum, teaching vocal improv, writing the ocassional song, playing and teaching piano, and generally enjoying life.
