Bio:
The Public Buildings is a home studio project band created by Shane Curran, a veteran of the Provo, Utah local music scene. This studio project takes the form of a live band when time and opportunity permits, in which case, a few of Shane's talented and experienced friends get together to interpret the material and play a show.
In a studio setting, The Public Buildings is essentially Shane Curran working on his Mac, using ProTools, GarageBand, and live Bass and Guitar, to write and record his music.
There is a broad spectrum of artists that continue to influence The Public Buildings. The more classic influences include The Beatles, Tom Petty, Steely Dan, U2 and many others. Several newer artists may compare in sound, including; The New Pornogaphers, Jet, The Shins, interpol, The Strokes, Pedro the Lion, and many more.
The Public Buildings sound is un-apologetic Pop-Rock. This musical genre is interpreted uniquely with classic rock and pop sounds applied to proven song structures, and laid beneath un-pretentious lyrics and expressive layered vocals. As a result of this formula, The Public Buildings create listenable songs with good hooks and great potential. The goal in this process is simple; to catch your ear and keep it.
