Roger Dodge has been a sideman for years in numerous bands throughout Texas & Oklahoma (in the USA). "They used to run us out of the back room at Tootsies in Ft. Worth when Stevie Ray Vaughn came in". Entangled in responsibilities by his late teens, he pursued music by moonlighting while working a straight job. "If the instrument or equipment was available and no one was playing or running it, I'd teach myself how to use it, and add it to the band". As a result, he ended up writing, performing and engineering his own music from first lyric to finished recording single-handedly. "Through the years I have spent monumental amounts of time putting sets together with live bands only to see the band disintegrate because someone moved, got married, got sick, went to jail, got hacked off and quit, etc. The only person I could really depend on was me. I began doing studio recordings just so my ideas and hard work would come to fruition. I still enjoy writing and recording parts with a few trusted friends. I have started learning Final Cut Studio to do multi-track video presentations from the recording sessions of the song(s) in the studio, so I can play gigs live with full video accompaniment and/or author music videos without being at the mercy of fickle band members. It's still in the works, but I'm working as fast as one person can - if only I could get off this computer and get back in the studio...".
Through a twist of fate, Roger Dodge has relocated to Pigeon Forge TN and was on his way as an unique and upcoming performer with the release of "Sumpin Outta Nutin" LP. "I've always enjoyed blurring the genre boundaries, and because of the (con)fusion, it gets hard to classify my music in a single typecast - just call it alternative". Have a listen and see if your favorite type of Alternative music is seasoned properly in his Rock based Fusion stew...
