iPad GB Song
Tuesday, March 15 2011 @ 10:52 AM CDT

I've been playing with GB for the iPad and found it to be quite a lot of fun. Here's a little something I put together entirely on the iPad. I plan to import it to my Mac and tidy it up, replace the bass and add some guitar, but all in all it's an impressive app.

Hey paddy,
That's sounds brilliant!
I've been fiddling with it a bit and it's so much fun.
As uneducated guy like myself I'm really enjoying how it bunches complimentary chords together. It's all very intuitive.
Your song is making me wanna just leave work, go home and grab the pad.

You'll have to import it as an audio file for now, Paddy. Here's what I posted earlier on the "iPad 2 is Out" thread:

From Apple...

Ted

It is very addictive. I can see myself using it as a song sketch book. A great example of where Apple gets it right with their software/hardware combo. Glad you like it.

Damnit. I read somewhere that Logic has no problems so I'll bring it into LE9 for the time being. Thanks for the info.

Can you actually use the IPad for a home recording device? I wouldn't mind using the IPad v2 w/ GB as a main setup. The question is, what interface? I've heard you can use a USB to IPad converter cable so that you can use a USB interface but I wasn't sure if there was an interface out there right now specifically for the IPad?

I plan to get one of these as soon as it is available:

Not a bad list price. Not sure that the quality will be great or not but what you get for the price is nice.

It is cool but looks pretty bulky. I think the whole idea with the iPad is the simplicity. Yes.. I would opt for a simple audio interface but use the touch screen for the rest of the work. If I'm gonna slap the Alesis to an iPad, I would just as soon get back to my desktop or laptop. On the go, I would use my Ampkit Link or buy a Apogee JAM.
