Pedal Steel player wanted for collab
Tuesday, September 30 2008 @ 01:01 PM CDT
Any pedal steel players out there? I would really like some in my latest song. It's a slow acoustic type thing and I'd like to give it a country flavor. Alternatively if anyone knows where I can get a sample library of pedal steel licks, that would be good too. Thanks in advance!

Great post Ridd. I would like to find one too, or at the very least some decent samples. Good luck I'll be watchin and bumpin if it's needed.

How about some fake pedal steel licks on the electric guitar.

2 options Ridd (that I'm aware of):
There are maybe 50 "Nashville Pedal Steel" loops available in Logic Studio - not sure whether they are in a JamPack or what. Lots of opportunities there - I used 3 loops (all that were available at the time) sliced and diced on "Northern Road" which worked out reasonably well. Or, ask Jim Bouchard if he's interested in doing some lap steel (he played it on my track with Lisa "Close Your Eyes"). Good luck, Neil
News Is Gonna Break - just do it. |

I have a few songs where I've used the Apple Pedal Steel loops in Logic and GB to finish the songs up in the country mode. They sound pretty good. Check it out. Most of them hide under the title "Nashville Pedal Steel I think, but there are also a few others in the JamPack as I recall. http://www.macjams.com/song/44319 "I've Got Time To Spend" and http://www.macjams.com/song/44373 "Back From The Past" All the loops were in the Rhythm Section JamPack as I recall. I think there are a few that come with GB too. They can be made to work well is you are careful, and you will sometimes have to cut them up and use just the part you want out of a loop. Have a lot of fun Ripp, they sound very good. Ed Music is the master link in the chain of the tribes of mankind ! SloParts, March 21, 2008 |
