Need Enginer to Mix Tracks!!
Monday, August 16 2004 @ 10:50 PM CDT

Does any one know of anyone that i could send my garageband files to get that polished mix. I would like to get some of my tunes ready for a CD I working on, but my mixes sound like fourtrack mixes. Any pros out there?

I'm not a 'Pro' but I've got a great ear, a great set of monitors and time. I would like to try my hand at mixing someone else's project for a change.

Gah! I don't think I really deserve a "rep" as an engineer, but I've fought through a lot of issues with GB mastering and I'd be happy to lend what advice I can. Point me toward the current track?

I'm also fighting an ongoing battle with performance in GB, which limits my ability to "engineer" good sound. My 800mhz iMac really chokes on songs with more than a half-dozen tracks once I start adding Graphic EQ adjustments. If your song is complicated I don't know how much help I could be, other than walking you through what I've managed to pick up thus far.

Drop me an email or find me on chat if you want to talk mastering!

Ages ago I used to earn my rice and beans engineering. I'll be glad to take a whack at one or more tracks if you post an archived band file.

Hmm... I've never been 100% at mixing my own music but I have done some good work with other bands and it came out much better than what went in. I mean, I have the right equipment and I have most of my "ear" left too (no thanks to Army Aviation).

Let me know were to get your .band file(s) and I'll give it a spin. I'd probably send the tracks out to Logic to do the tweaking, so I'd be giving you back a single polished audio file, if that ok. I could keep the individual tracks separate if necessary.

Anyway, it's an idea.

Why doesn't everyone just take a crack at it and then the best mix can be picked???

I can give it a shot. Where do I get the song at?
