logic problem help
Friday, March 20 2009 @ 05:38 PM CDT
so i have been working on a song, and then just today the record buttons disappeared from Logic Express 8. I tried control click/ configure track headers/enable record button; but as you can see by the picture it's already checked. Very confusing, and irritating as I was hoping to do some recording.
as you can see by this first pic, the record button is just gone and there is a space there. if i disable the record button, the space disappears. when i enable it, it looks like this: ![]() I tried control click/ configure track headers/enable record button; but as you can see by the picture it's already checked. ![]() any ideas. i am using a MXL USB mic that worked fine with everything I have recorded so far, haven't changed any software, or anything. am running LE8 with OSX 10.5.6 (no updates). |

Micheal - interesting problem - is it the same on all projects?
I noticed a button missing on your "configure track header" pic - not sure if that makes a difference. ![]() Have you tried using a backup copy? Good luck! The only problem I have with LP8 is that it often crashes when trying to consolidate regions in a track. This can be a total pain, but otherwise all seems well. Neil

I am not sure what's happening but I would think that you should be able to create a new project and drag all the audio files into it from the Audio file folder. It's a bit of work but it looks like the song consists only of audio files so it shouldn't be too hard to start over with those tracks. Perhaps that Logic project got corrupted.
I think I recall this being brought up in the Apple Logic Discussion Board but I don't remember if there was a solution. |

thanks Jonk, this is the 2nd time i've had to rebuild the aggregate device. weird, sounds like it's typical for things to go weird in Logic. builds character and my troubleshooting skills. thanks for the link, and hope you feel better.
