Have you chosen the FastTrack Pro as the audio output in the System Preferences and/or in Logic?

There is a Mute checkbox in System Preferences -> Sound that I inadvertently checked one day, and drove myself crazy until I figured it out. Try looking for the checkbox, and making sure it is unchecked. I am running Snow Leopard. |

I have an M-Audio firewire solo (off topic)

OK - I'll copy it here too:
Hello I have a pair of Mackie MR8's linked up via a fastrack pro and also using Logic. I am not sure what your problem might be - I have mine via the trs outputs of the maudio to the trs inputs of the Mackies. I have also used rca outputs to xlr on the Mackies. I would strongly suggest using high quality balanced trs leads. I had some bad whine noises with rca which are unbalanced. I assume that the input levels are turned up on the speakers and that the output knob (furthest right at the bottom) is turned up and also that the input/output mix knob (immediately above the output) is also fully turned to the right on the maudio. Careful though with all knobs in the furthest position you are likely to rock the building. I assume that you have sound from the maudio in the first place - ie headphones? If not then your problem is probably with your audio setup in Logic. Logic/Preferences/Audio and make sure that your input and output devices are both set to the maudio (this assumes Logic 9). If earlier version of Logic, just make sure maudio is selected as your device. If you need further help - just ask. Edit: Mute button in system preferences/sound is not applicable when using an interface for output. Seeing as you are hearing ok through headphones (via maudio I assume) - my only suggestion now is the output/input knobs as above. Must try harder |
