We are able to do the same thing without battery. That blog post shows a list of issues that iRig also resolves, just differently. We've also been at the component selection and build of iRig for a very long time (and years in audio hardware and creators of the first simulated full rig of guitar gear in software in 1996) so AmpliTube iRig is certainly worth a spin.
