Logic studio
Friday, December 31 2010 @ 02:10 AM CST
So, my wife got me the upgrade version of Logic Studio from Express....
I read on the side of the box, that total content would take about 50gb of space, since it contained all the jam packs, sonds, loops, tones, etc... Then, i looked over to my 2006, 1.83hz, 148gb intel imac, and there was no way it was gonna even run this awesome program.... My wonderful, beautiful wife, whom has supported my music since the day we met, in 1996, was given the bad news; i would have to sadly take back the program, and continue struggling with my underpowered version of Logic Express 9. Oh, how i love her... This was not good enough, so today, via FEDEX, I recieved a brand spanking new, 27" IMAC. Quad core, 1tb hard drive MONSTER!!!! Be prepared for some devastating METAL!!! Soon as i figure out how to make it all work, of course!!! Here's to supportive spouses, and the love we share of rock and roll!!! Hope you all have a great new year!!! Allen Dean The Rad Project |

It appears to me you could have installed the 50GB of program content on an external HD. Your 2006 Intel Mac was plenty powerful enough.
So now you have a new Mac - Congrats! Now invest in a external hard drive for your samples,sessions,etc... My recommendation. Have fun - Looking forward to some awesome shredding Metal from you soon. Happy New Year! mvh : ) |

And yes, I'm looking forward to hear your music. Now, you must go for it. All the best for 2011 |

To all:
Yeah, i could have probably dealt with the system resources low crash and burn scenario a few thousand more times, but when your wife offers to buy you a new imac, i try to stay out of the way of progress! We do have kids, who got all manner of coolness this holiday. Our thirteen year old got his first ipod touch, our 16 year old, his first flying V, And our eldest,21, got to go clothes shopping, which was the most honest and least expensive of the lot, if you can believe that....i got the wife a new digital camera, and an iphone4.... We save all year and usually go nuts on christmas.....i got the logic, a watch, and well, a new imac for the studio....i might let the rest ofthe fam play on it sometimes....
