MIDI trouble !!!
Saturday, June 30 2012 @ 02:38 AM CDT
I composed something in Logic. I reduced the tracks (only midi instruments). It has 6 software instruments : Piano, Bass, Drums, Bassoon, Cello and Flute, each on its own track. when I export this as a midi file to play on my keyboard or in Quicktime, the bass instrument is taken over by the piano, and the Bassoon, Cello and Flute do not sound like they've been assigned to their respective general midi-instruments. which steps should I take to have them assigned like they should - and/or - which midi software programs can I apply to edit this instrument/program information? I already googled this extensively, but didn't find an answer yet.
Bass is on track 1, Piano track 2, Cello track 3, Flute track 4, Basson track 5, drums track 6. Drums and piano seem to export great, the rest makes a mess of things, especially the Bass Stef |

I found out myself and explored the hyper editor. Perfect export, all instruments in the right spot.
Thanks Stef (lol) |

What did you discover was the problem... and how did you resolve it in Hyper Editor?

First I replaced every software instrument by a midi program instrument (ctrl click track header = reassign track object). Then I went to the Hyper editor and for each track I assigned a midi program (program row) at the beginning and/or at a specific place with the pen tool.
