Sunday, July 08 2012 @ 03:37 AM CDT
Sitting in a lecuture about waveforms and envelopes, I saw the "App Store" on my new macbook.
Had a crazy spontaneous moment and just bought logic pro. Fastest 140 quid in my life crazyface

And now I've just bought some more RAM.
What the hell is this about apple selling 8GB for $200? I got my chips from Crucial at 37 quid for both of them, tax included. |

Hahahaha! I was there, a few weeks ago. Plenty of coffee is a good idea. And yes, Apple are robbing people something wicked with their "own" ram. I too ordered mine from Crucial for next to nothing and DIYed. My new iMac is now maxed out and I saved a fortune. Good on you for getting Logic btw, and a great way to do it! It's about time I changed this... |

Apple, in the UK at least, could probably be prosecuted for their RAM prices. It will only take one person to buy some and then see what they could have got it for, and then to realise that they can report the issue to the Trading Standards office. Apple might be forced to contact every one they've sold RAM to for the last few years in the UK and refund them the difference between what they paid and what they should have paid. As fitting is included it might be OK to charge a little more than the going market rate, but the amounts Apple charge have been absurd for years. Same goes for hard disk space on most models. Oh, and congratulations on the software purchase. Ancient Chinese proverb: The man who does not make mistakes usually does not make anything. |

Yeah, ridiculous. But my university still pays for it because of the service contract. It makes it easier to get your machine repaired under contract. If you don't have sugardaddies like that, just get the cheap stuff. Works just as well. Victor. -- My CD. Use coupon code "macjams" on BandCamp. |
