Reason 6, or...?
Wednesday, May 02 2012 @ 07:08 AM CDT

Hi, being a Logic Pro user I'm now looking for software to expand my creative zone especially when it comes to creating cool grooves and sounds.

After having looked at Reason 6, it seems very tempting to go ahead and buy it.

Would be nice to hear input from users more experienced with such software if this is the top choice in the genre, or if I should look elsewhere?

Very powerful system propellerheads has! Totally amazing! It's like anything. It's quite complicated, but that is part of what gives it so much power and flexability!

Need drums? Look me up...

I use only Reason in my stuff - now that you can record audio directly into the programme. It's an exciting time to be a Reason user, as with the free upgrade to 6.5, you will be able to add third party instruments and effects into the Reason rack. The best thing about Reason is the combinator - this allows you to create a new sound by layering instruments one on top of the other, routing them how you like, in a self contained rack unit. Am I a Reason enthusiast? Yes I am!! (It's also a lot more fun than Logic, because of the visual metaphor).

I am not a Reason user. I have an old version (4.0) of it that I have played with a little. I think it is extremely powerful, but will take me some time to learn correctly. I am just not sure what I am doing most of the time. I will say this however. Anything you create using Reason will sound like a million bucks. Here is the first and just about only thing I did in Reason. Almost everything is defaults as I didn't know what I was doing and got into trouble fast. However, you can hear the richness and power that Reason provides in its palette.
