Neat.
Does anyone know if you can drag or import an existing audio file into a track?

First GB for iPad "song." Just a chillout downtempo thing I did last night in about 45 mins. The drums are loops and all the rest was played in using the various instruments.

It seems that this is likely a good tool for singer/songwriters on the go. I think the song editing and synth creation in Nanostudio is far more advanced and well conceived, but I'm still waiting for the iPad-ified version to come out. The synth selection and editablity are not where I'd like them to be but it's no big deal.

As expected the on-screen rendering of the instruments and playability is great. I love the velocity sensitivity - it actually works reasonably well.

Performance seems reasonable good on a 1st gen iPad. I did note that periodically I would get an "Optimizing Performance" pop-up with a progress bar. I'm assuming by this behavior that it is probably freezing the tracks automatically for better quality.

Anyway...it's still an outrageous bargain at $4.99.

Ya know, you'd think they would have thought about the part about opening an iPad GB doc on your Mac before they said you could do it in the video.

I wonder if the update will only be for GB '11. Right now I have everything up to GB4. Of course, I could use this as an excuse to go ahead and get iLife 11, but first, I need to come up with an excuse to get an iPad2.

The guitar amps and pedals look pretty neat.

You can get GB as a separate program now for $14.99. No need to go the whole iLife hog.

I have a few music making apps on my ipad, and I've deleted the. Typically for Apple, the GB app has great functionality and is really easy to use, Be interesting to see who is the first to post a song here recorded on it. The mixing abilities are very limited, but as a way to capture ideas on the move, its first rate.

See the link in my post above. Already posted a little ditty. I am interested to hear something with recorded vocals or guitars.

You can open the files on your Mac, but only if you have GB6 installed. I've just tried with GB5 and it doesn't work, though you do get the assets in the band file package. So the file won't open in GB5, nor Logic 8, which is what I am using. I don't fancy forking out for the Logic 9 upgrade right now!

It has some very cool features, certainly, and is very easy to use, but editing very limited, as has been pointed out. You can do almost nothing to the midi. And unless you have the latest versions of GB or Logic, you can't, as far as I can see, open up an iPad made project in either of those apps.

It's about time I changed this...
