frustrating dialogue box on GB
Wednesday, August 15 2012 @ 01:43 AM CDT

So there i am on Garageband.. finding my way 'round. the first gripe i have with the thing is whilst i'm tweaking and adjusting tracks, is the bloody dialogue box that comes up whilst i'm in the process saying ' you have made changes ' blah blah blah .. i KNOW that i've made changes, Garageband.. and click either 2 of the 3 options and he damn program quits. i dont want it to quit unless i specifically tell it to. either way, the only way to carry on working on my project is to click 'cancel' - which is a pain in the ass, because i'm not planning on GB throwing any 'save changes' dialogue boxes at me until i am ready.

Why cant it understand that i am working on a ongoing project and will be making many, many changes until the mix is done for the session.. throwing dialogues at me doesn't help creativity, and the momentry mistake, clicking the wrong box (when there should be NO dialogue boxes) can simply exit the program, easily.
if you know what i mean.. any suggestions ?

As someone who does support, you need to supply *much* more info than just "whilst i'm tweaking and adjusting tracks, is the bloody dialogue box that comes up..."

What, exactly, are you doing? What are you tweaking? What does the dialog box say and what are the specific options you have clicked?

If you're running at least 10.6, you should be able to use Quicktime to get a movie of the problem by recording your screen (or a section of your screen starting with 10.7).

The problem you describe -- casually tweaking stuff on your tracks and the program crashes -- is not the norm for anyone here, so more info is needed.

I said don't disturb me when I'm cleaning my room!
