Waiting for more material for the Turtle Shell Clave song... I guess there should be a drop dead date on it. I have been involved in a massive remodel and have not put anything together except painting is a great mindless task for thinking about building a tune. If you want to throw together a version, I certainly don't have any objections. The response to the Found_Sounds profile has been really cool. It will be better when everyone knows it is there... time is on our side on that.
At any rate, I plan on doing something with what we have probably during the New Year's Break. What are your thoughts?

there might be enough here already to try a mix. if i need to add some more found sounds to round it out, i'll add them as separate tracks on found_sounds as well... is it OK to add regular instruments to it as well? let's see what happens

the more the merrier! i think we should be sure the beats per minute is included in the track names to make life easier. this time of year i don't have a lot of time to record tracks or try mixes, but we'll see

I think we should give this the full push with an upload deadline - followed by a song post deadline. The Found Sound Challenge. Hopefully the idea of providing inspiration for - and being credited in - songs will encourage more people to upload.
Then it could run like a LIOLI challenge. Maybe only Found Sounds can be used to create a song - or perhaps at least three samples have to be used in some way.
Could be - upload samples by Jan 15 - post songs weekend Feb. 5 - 7.

I've already got a song title for my entry: "Get Out Of My Brain You Damn Dirty Turtles".

Cool, then I'll work something up for a Forum Challenge... Something like, 'Found Sound Challenge.' 60 BPM, use any of the sounds at Found Sounds plus add your own three or more sounds, yada yada, etc. One of the Found sounds has to be my Turtle Shell of course... you know... those dirty turtles. Will pass the verbiage to the Found Sound Committee for input. I've never started a challenge before, so want to get it right....

I'm planning to add more sounds right after Christmas. I'm going to bring my recording equipment to capture a number of things while the plant is closed, such as:
Running the fork lift
Dropping a pallet on the shipping floor
Operating various equipment, ect.

Hopefully something I record will be useful to someone

Lots of cool sounds piling up on the site. I'd like to suggest that people credit themselves in the description so they can be credited in future songs.
