So far so.....
Friday, December 30 2011 @ 10:40 PM CST
good?
Had to fire the drummer at the second gig - guess if I'd kept up with the gossip, I'd 've known he was using again. What a trainwreck and waste of talent. Never trust a player who doesn't have his own axe? Next 2 are postponed to Feb. On the very plus side, Ryan, drummer buddy of Sean The Bass Player, punk, metal, rock performance experience, good gear, has signed on. First rehearsal with him was today. We ROCK. A little sobering that their combined age is less than mine. Feels wonderful to ride the wave of young musicians coming into their competence. Happy New Year, everyone. 24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1924. That means it only took 50 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. |

I'm sure the age difference goes both ways. You can help them avoid a lot of pitfalls that hit young bands. And they can amp up your energy level.
Show them how it's done! |

Dang. What is the d with that? Everyone busts their butts to practice and rehearse and then on the night of the gig someone does everything possible to self-implode. The music biz. Theres no biz like it. Not sure if it went down like that in your case but can relate.

Dope; Actually, at the age of 60, I'm amazed at how many people it hasn't killed. When I look back at what has done the most damage to friends and acquaintances, alcohol is by far the worst of the killers. Coke, speed and junk are nastier socially and easier to point a finger at, but they're also easier to quit. And don't get me started on prescription stuff.
Hash smokers (according to the toast) live forever. 24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1924. That means it only took 50 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. |
