lol sorry it's 1/4" tape on 7" reels :-D runs about 10 bucks a spool :0 for the lower quality I need. deck will record on higher quality (and more expensive!) tape but the electronics limit performance ;-) feels good to finally get a reel to reel been wanting one a couple years! exciting! joined a couple online fora already for advice and tips ;-) oh and potential parts!

lol...terry and i used a TEAC ...spelling i guess.... we used scotch tape to splice...uggghhh...loved those daze

I have finally figured this out but now I have forgotten what to use it for.

they still sell splice tape online :-) thank God for the Internets :-) radio shack quit carryin reel tape 5-6 years ago, sent me to guitar center no thanks... I'll order online :-) everything for this machine is available, it's even upgradable!!

Congrats! The 4010 is a solid deck. TEACs last very well and parts are available. I still have my tape decks, though they see little use except occasionally digitizing an old session. There are techniques that only work with analog, so have fun!
