My good friend Joel Gragg's debut CD "When the Dust Settles" is now available on Apple iTunes and cdbaby. com!!! For those of you keeping score at home, I played drums on this record as well as bass and additional guitar on the title track.... When I heard the final version I was floored at the mix and production. It is a great sounding roots rock record.... Perfect for fans of Tom Petty, Jakob Dylan and The Wallflowers or Daniel Lanois.... Joel also played on a couple of The Freefall Effect tunes....so chances are most MJers have already heard his wonderful skills....now check out is debut!!!!

so for those in the know .... Joel is also currently gigging as the guitar player for Jan Krist.... yes THE Jan Krist.... which is way cool.... they just played the big Cornerstone Music Festival 2 days ago.....and Joel told me that it went quite well....he even sold a few of his own record while he was there.... so check it out people.... I really think the production/mix alone will floor you....even if it is not your usual thing.... dig....peace....Ian

yes Joel and I go way back.... I have played on his stuff over the years, but this by far is his most shining piece of work.... he does not have his stuff here on MJ yet.... I stress YET!!!!..... everyone should deluge him with messages at his myspace or his email inviting him....that would light a fire under him to get here quicker I bet.... he would be a great fit here at MJ.....

though he is not here yet he did play lead guitar on 2 tracks for The Freefall Effect. The tracks were "I just Don't Know" and "Calling Captain Obvious" both can be found here on macjams..... go tohttp://www.macjams.com/artists/freefalleffect to check them out....

ok .... let me answer 2 questions here that I have been asked in chat....

1. NO, I AM NOT JOEL GRAGG!!!!!

2. No, he does not do "crazy rock" like me....

Yes I played drums on his record but we do 2 very different things from one another musically..... he has a very roots rock sound..... and he is one of, if not THE finest blues lead player I have ever worked with..... so fans of blues rock guitar take heed to this record!!!!
