I have two... I didn't say them but they have been a big deal to me.

1) Your strengths are also your weaknesses. I like this one 'cause I got a bunch of weaknesses and I can live with myself by calling 'em strengths.

2) If you lose something important to you, ask yourself what you would do if you won the lottery and got a million bucks. If you ran out of money, would you start bitchen' 'cause you didn't have 10 million? I like this one because when my dad died when I was a kid I had a rough time. I felt like somebody stole something from me. But one day, years later this quote helped me see that I won the lottery and the 8 years I had a dad were pure luck in the first place. Got to appreciate the winning, don't piss about the runnin' out.

I'll give you my favorite one of my own, though I've given it before:

The black mass hung like entrails from an oarless boat. So I used them.

Yeah. Genius isn't it. I scrawled that on paper one night as I woke from dreaming. I was convinced I was on to something really IMPORTANT. If only I could figure out what it was....

Also... as long as we are talking about great things people said. I actually invented AJAX. Seriously. But nobody believes me. But it was a good idea. Too bad some other dude thought of it and knew what he was on to. I just thought it was cool. I didn't know the rest of the world would think so too. Ah... missed opportunities. Add it to the pile!

Great thread starter. I can see why you started a thread with a quote that cool!

Two of my favs... I like to think I wrote them but I was probably beaten to the punch:

1) Everything in moderation... Including moderation

2) Inside every old person is a much younger person screaming, "what the hell happened!?"

this first one is my all-time favorite quote ... just thought i'd share.

"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy" by Tom Waits (also my all-time favorite artist).

and this one comes from my beautiful wife ... i believe it's a spoonerism (did i get that right?)

"These salters are cracky!" (of course, instead of "these crackers are salty) lol Wink

... words are fun ...

AAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!

My senior year high school yearbook quote:

"Life is change. Live it as such before it leaves you behind"

I was a three letter guy for 4 years...lots (not all, thank God) of my jock friends wouldn't leave me alone on that one.

"Ur so sensitive!!! Har-de-har-har!!!"

But it went over well with the bandmates and groupies.
