Pie....I have an opinion too! I think you make great music and take it seriously...so, does that mean since I don't make music like Pie, my opinion is no longer valid Cool

As far as Clapton......hehe..I'm told I sing sort of like him....so, now I'm in a quandry....ok, I'll just shut up!

Peace

Let's change the subject. Is this thread looking as weird for everyone else as it is for me? I think there is a serious bug in the site software. Something with quoting.

But selling 10,000,000 cds does not make him Crap either. Eric Clapton HAS talent, more than everyone in this thread. So that is why people here have no room to talk Sh*t.

[Quote Quote by:Troy

No, it just makes him popular, not good. Clapton may have more talent as a guitar player than anyone on this site, but I think there ARE better / more creative WRITERS on this site than him.

And just because he's a talented guitar player doesn't mean that I have to like the guy's style of play. I don't even play guitar, does that mean I can't have an opinion? It's ridiculous. You've never been president, yet you you are very strongly opinionated over our douchebag president. What's the difference?

Hahahahahahahahahaha!! How the Fu*k did we get on BUSH?? I oppose BUSH the PERSON....not the position....I could care less if he was king of the World. Hahahahahahahahahahaha... G.W.B is dumb as Sh*t and you know it.

Ha!
And the difference Troy?? You said it yourself, YOU DO NOT PLAY GUITAR. YOU have NO CLUE what it Takes and the Talent that is involved. MOST of YOUR Midi Guitar stuff is PATHETIC because you do not know (just like you ripped on Alimar for his "wild Drums") That is where I get away with telling you how it is.

Where do you get off telling me that I have no right to say I dislike Clapton when YOU can trash Santana at will? Sort of a double standard, don'tcha think?

I think you missed my little joke Troy --------->Wink
Don'tcha Think??

Take another look, no double standard, I KNEW what I was Saying.

....... all i wanna know is when i flip the switch the lights come on.

and just curious. but pie & troy , if ya had to pick one artist to listen to fo the rest of your lives who would it be?

peace

Wow x 10,000. Yeah, who would be your most revered SINGLE musician guys? Who or what signifies everything you hold as dear and correct and fully functional?

Not a list of all your favorite artists or influences, but just your one true hero or heroine or Band/entity...

(It's clear what you don't like...)

Pull my finger. I dare you.

Hey man...

I just got back into town after doing a weekend gig. What's this about tashing my guitar
playing. No respect from the younger generation of rockers! My buddy Jimmy Page was
telling me that someone was blasting him the other day too... Well, so it goes.

One can always change the channel.

It's your signature line that is making people use the Bush analogy.

Oh please, RL, "pathetic"? Overstating a bit?

You are under the misguided conception that because I don't play guitar, that I can't have an opinion on guitar players. I don't make movies, does that mean I can't comment on movies too? TV shows?

I have ears, I have a brain, I have emotions. EC's music (Again, lets be clear: not so much his guitar playing as it is his post 1970 SONGS themselves) just doesn't TOUCH me. It leaves me uninvolved, unmoved.

AND troy, y'all are free to your opinion but typically when we can't do somethin most don't critisize it. my brotha can tell ya how much light is goin thru a piece of glass and at what rate of speed. given the density of the glass n wattage of the light source.

so when he is wirin somethin up, i do not critisize him or attempt to tell him how to do it. i embrace him n his abilities to do a thing which i can not. who am i to judge him? he can build an electrical power station and explain to me why EVERYTHING does what it does whilst doin it. me all i wanna know is when i flip the switch the lights come on.

Maybe I missed something . . . You brother is a lighting designer? Maybe he works for architects? Bands? maybe he's just a gifted electrician?

Regardless, if he designes a lighting scheme and his customer says "Aaaack! It's way too bright" or "I don't like that green", does that client not have the right to that opinion? Does your brother not have to adjust his work to please his client? If he want's to get paid, he will.

Am I not Eric Clapton's client too? Aren't we ALL EC's clients, or potential clients? We ALL have the right to say we don't like a product put on the market for us to buy.

All this defenseive whining cracks me up. Sorry if I offended your sensibilities by saying I think EC is boring. Why do you guys get your panties all in a twist? You think EC gives 2 shits WHAT I think? No, he's laughing all the way to the bank. So why do you and Ronnie care so much?

Frank Zappa comes to mind first.

Hmmmmmmm....OK, so let me see if I got this....

From a CONSUMER Standpoint, You Don't like Eric Clapton's Music...

Yet you have No Problem admitting Eric Clapton Has Talent.

Hmmmm...

Ok, I guess I can see it your way. Wink

And I guess my remark about "Pathetic midi guitars" was a little harsh. How about uneducated..... is that better??

Like I have said many times before, Y'all have an Opinion, and so do we. You spit static and you will get it right back. Do you really wonder why you guys (Troy and Pie) are getting dumped on?

Opinion vs. Opinion.

Sure E.C is No guitar "God" (and SANTANA sure as Sh*t aint' either Winkhahahaha). But nobody here is. Get my point? Pretty simple. Yes you have an opinion, but NO credit behind it. Nobody really CARES what you think, just like you don't CARE what I think! HA! The MAIN PURPOSE of this thread was to PICK A FIGHT. Don't tell me, PIE, that you didn't think there would be any Clapton Fans in here. Fu*king WEAK if you ask me. But it keeps the forums entertaining!! Twisted Evil

Apparently, one does not need to reach the same level of talent to pass judgement. Anyone can pass judgement. Right? Guess what.... THAT is the Fu*king PROBLEM!!!

Troy, You write weird ass tunes and they are Gold...eh??? (according to its self proclaimed un-boring-ness). Clapton writes an "emotional" tune about the Death of his Kid and you want to rip your own ears off. WTF? You don't think you're boring?

You tell me where you get off saying that!

So keep on with the opinions, for sure......Say you're bored, fine. Say he has not had a good tune since the 70's. But if you REALLY knew what you were doing with music you would not be wasting your middle age years on a site like this. You would have your freaky Tiki music out in the mix re-inventing the music scene. Right?

Opinion vs. Opinion

Bottom line is, when people don't agree it Sucks. Cuz there is NO RIGHT ANSWER. Not here.

Troy -In the end, my friend, we all have to agree to disagree. That seems to be the only way out! hahahahahahahahahahaha....
