Eric Clapton is an old man with alot of songs under his belt...He obviously did something right. You all are just jeoulos that your names don't get thrown around in every guitar god topic.Good Luck..The age of guitar gods is over...Guitar is getting upstaged by new ideas and electronic machines...Can't stop the passing of the time..Rock n roll is burning out...My guitar will never make me wealthy........But I can still enjoy playing it...I would hate to be famous..A bunch of jeolous aspiring musicians would find some excuse to hate on me....So I'm very happy for now with being a musical nobody, until i figure out how to sell music without selling my soul to a stupid production company...

P.S Why is this site promoting that god awful American Idols Underground...YUck YUck

actually rock is finally making a come back. the indie bands have been coming out, and the major labels are falling. it seems to be a new era for rock. rap is starting to fade out, and i hope that music is taking a turn for the better, though there will always be good and bad music and it's a matter of opinion anyways. what i find to be new good music is probably seen by many on this site as bad. i do find it a pointless thing to go and trash other players. i mean i suck compared to most ppl and there isnt a thread about how horrible i am. so why make one about a person, who had skill. maybe not the best its opinion, but he had skill. he knew guitar

I'm no musician, just hopelessly in love.

Mr. Ebenezer Pie,
Yes...your thread from the past is back to haunt you!

I see a future where the ghost of Ebenezer Pie will clomp endlessly around some old estate dragging Fender Stratocaster Eric Clapton Signature models (with the Lace Sensorâ„¢ pickups, of course)

As a matter of fact, I think this thread has provided you world-wide celebrity.
"Oh...yes.. the Eric Clapton thread from MacJams...Pie was the originator"
This thread is historically significant in this regard, for you, for all of us.
It may out live us all! Imagine that!
It's our duty to comment always on the 'Eric Clapton is god or not' thread. We must keep the thread alive at all costs.

You will be remembered, Mr. Pie...This thread is your destiny!!! Your children's children will wear it as a badge of honor.
They will tell there friends, "My grandpapa was Pie!"
"Oooo...the Eric Clapton thread.!" Your progeny will get quality dates with atrractive people because of your genius.

BTW.....Eric Clapton is god! ha ha you're way wrong.... chump

I'd rather listen to Roy Buchanon. Smile

Eric Clapton is "the most beautiful, kindest, most understanding guy that I've come across." says Jack Bruce. In the story is also a comment regarding the possibility of more Cream shows.
Should I have started a new Eric Clapton 2006 thread? Wink

You know... your song could be GREAT... could be the best out here.... but why.... Why the would you pimp your song under the Eric Clapton thread? What's the thought process behind it?
Am I coming across as an ass? Good. Because sometimes I need to understand the newbie's thought process before being nice...

Ok, my turn. I am reviving this thread because... I love .

I said don't disturb me when I'm cleaning my room!

I've been generally disappointed with what Clapton has done post-Derek & the Dominoes.
The Cream reunion in May should be interesting. I hope Jack Bruce, who's been recovering from liver cancer and a transplant, has the stamina to get through the shows. IMHO, he was always the special ingrediant in Cream. Steve Winwood was the special part of Blind Faith; Duane Allman, the special part of Derek and the Dominoes. Eric seems to need someone else in the band to push and challenge him.

You nailed it Mungo! Without passionate sidemen, Clapton is hyper-competent but UNinspired. (And I've been following him since the Yardbirds.)
