Re:Gaga has plans to save Japan
Tuesday, March 15 2011 @ 07:59 PM CDT
Well, I for one am very glad THAT nasty boy was gotten rid of! We have NO NEED in this fine place for anyone who expresses an outlook that runs counter to the accepted opinion we all hold.
And his language! My stars, it was every bit as awful as some of the words he coaxed out of a few of our most important members. Nobody needs THAT in this day and age. What's next, I ask you, MUSIC we have no desire to hear? (Although, I admit, the tunes he'd posted sounded very well crafted and interesting, I'm sure that was just a trick.) From where I sit, COMFORT is the key to a close, happy family and --I'm not afraid to say it-- the GOOD LIFE. Yes, indeed, I'm happy to experience the punk ethic only vicariously through the warm memories of some of our more esteemed peers. If the real thing was in any way as thorny as that horrible boy, I want no part of it! It's so nice just to sit here in this lovely, tepid bath like so many Eloi and bask in the evolved gentleness of it all. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Fran, play us a Jeff Beck cover would you, dear? Love, MoM |

i'm confused. i posted a reply to your comment (because i took the above at face value) but have since been told that your comment was in response to CMNgTU being kicked off...and that you were in fact castigating the mob. i've now removed the post because i want to make sure i understand before i post. |

..."tepid" is the spice of life eh MoM .... not a good day at the forums ...... again. I still do not understand when a "Rant Forum" gets too heated for us we don't just either walk away ... or .... ignore the damn thing. Fire needs fuel. The last one got someone "admin. bitch slapped" ... again ..... and I am still not sure that was such a wonderful thing. There appeared to be kerosene flying from both directions best I could tell. Funny thing is I am certain I have pushed some buttons with some outrageous behavior at times...doh!...really I have. Not defending anyone or any point of view. Just sorting it out. |

Yes, I was trying to remember who that one was. He, too, was removed for his uncommon thoughts. |

Well, there was ZipLok (who knows if I spelt that right) and a bit further back there was Ichabod Pain. I'm not sure if it was 'thoughts' that got them the Great Shoe From The Sky or it was more a matter of style. I suspect Zippy's relentless pedal-to-the-metal promotion of self was tolerated, but the embedded off-colour autoplay stuff brought about the Cosmic Boot. I'm not sure what Ich actually did to bring about the Celestial Stomp... his song reviews were brutal, albiet pretty true, but artists had to specifically request the treatment. There is a certain rhythm to this place, and periodically someone, whether by design or accident, begins to feel out that unseen line where speaking one's mind begins to transcend into straight abuse. It's not a hard and fast division, and where one sees that line is never easy to explain, justify or respond to. Ultimately, this is Admin's sandbox and they get to draw that line and wield the Silent Giant Shoe as they see fit. They ask for no money from us, demand no fees or commitments... and for the most part they let this place run fairly free. I suspect CMN2GTU's abusive style led to the Thunder Stomp, as his points regarding celebrities using tragic events to 'do something' could yield a discussion that was genuinely valid and real - and, at times, was. |
