Done Fishing
Monday, October 17 2011 @ 02:09 PM CDT
UPDATE:
This thread used to be called "If I didn't think it was so important I wouldn't be pimping this." I just changed it to "Occupy MacJams" to welcome the kind of discourse that I find so invigorating at Zuccotti Park. At the park we make an effort to stay as inclusive and apolitical as possible. 2nd UPDATE: Gone Fishing - might try to make some music too. ------------------------------------------------------------- I'm a bit embarrassed to do so - but I owe it to my kids and my community. Thanks for your understanding - and I'll gladly accept any criticism. 99% ![]() It's better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't done. |

If not you, then who. Thank you to you and all those who are making this effort. The song sounds great.
The trouble with being in the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.--Lily Tomlin |

Just seems to me Wall St isn't the place to be, place to be would be the place that has started all the bailouts, health care reform,,and this lovely economy and unemployment. Maybe Pennsylvania Av would be a better street?

Re:If I didn't think it was so important
Monday, October 17 2011 @ 10:46 PM CDT yes, interesting graphic. I often feel hypocritical, as even though I am overwhelmed by concerns for my kids futures, I am also a fully functioning member of society (i.e. a consumer), who is part and parcel of the problem. i think my primary concern is the issue of fair representation for all, and that if campaign reforms are brought about we can all be represented for what our vote stands for (and not how much we have in the corporate coffers). even this causes me discomfort though: I hate the fact that the supreme court gave us the practice of "corporate personhood," I feel like it was in their best interests to come up with that ruling; at the same time, I defend things like abortion rights and gay rights, and applaud when the supreme court rules in favor of my causes. i'm a hypocrite. why did I ever have kids? life is so difficult, and I hate when it becomes more difficult due to disagreement, oppression and greed. i wish no ill will to those who disagree with me, I just don't agree with them. I think you're right: the battle should be in front of the white house. |
