Unfortunately the extremes get heard more than the middle. Right now it's a sad spectacle with GOP presidential candidates trying to out-pure each other. Rick Perry, who I have little love for, gets piloried because he actually has pragmatic thoughts about illegal immigrants. The same thing happened to McCain: being from AZ he actually had to find realistic solutions to the problem. He changed his mind when he tried to run for president.

It makes me wonder how we can get mainstream opinions heard. Unfortunately the supreme court has decided that freedom of speech means that whoever can buy the biggest megaphone can outshout every one else. And this means that money rules. I'm sure that's part of what OWS is protesting against.

Thanks Jack - and excellent post. Evertime I see a clip like this I wonder how much The Who really needed Roger. I guess that's blasphemy to some - Pete rocks and I love his voice.

David Amram (penny whistle), Arlo Guthrie (white hat), Pete Seeger (somewhere with two canes), Tom Chapin, Guy Davis and many more marched from Symphony Space to Columbus circle singing all the way last night. This clip was shot after midnight. Arlo played a show at Symphony prior to the march.

Every voice adds to the dialogue - and dialogue is the current mission. Agreeable - disagreeable - responsible - reckless - informed - misinformed. As long as people are asking questions and talking to each other progress is being made. This is one of thousands of random clips out there on youtube.
