Re:Ray Bradbury, R.I.P. (1920-2012)

I thought he would live on forever (and perhaps he is, in some other cosmic dimension that he himself created). I'm sorry to hear of his passing as he was one of America's truly great writers and I've enjoyed his work since I've been old enough to read. Incidentally, he, editor/writer Forrest Ackerman and Ray Harryhausen all met each other as very young men with no real sense of what the future held for them, and initiated the very first sci-fi convention (in fact, it was Ackerman who coined that term). There must have been a reason why these three pioneers of sci-fi and fantasy were almost inexplicably drawn together so very early in their careers.

Here's hoping Mr. Bradbury left us a warehouse of previously unpublished works, but if not, what he wrote will be read for centuries to come.
