Man, I can't wait to hear some of the goodness bound to spring from this thread. The final date is SO far away!

Well, I finally figured out how to play the song I'm covering. (Err, more or less... the parts I'm not sure about I'll just keep adding instruments doing all sorts of different things, hopefully some of it will be in the neighborhood. If ya can't wow 'ew, distract 'em....
Also, the Plasticville City Symphony Orchestra arrived to begin rehearsals of my tune this week. When they heard what song I was covering, they were VERY excited about taking part... certainly not on my behalf, but the PCSO holds The Artist I'm covering in very high regard! Here's a few pics of a practice session in the PlasticVille City Park. ![]() ![]() |

In two weeks I get to start hunting for the song to cover. My choice will be made only from new material posted on or after December 1st. I had to narrow the field somehow.
It's better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't done. |

Hey JD, why is there a question mark next to my name? Although, I know I might be puzzling from time to time. lol LL |

Two years ago Mjer Ridd Sorensen posted a lovely tune titled “These Odds.” Long story short, I covered it. My original mix was pretty flat and tinny, and there were a number of glitches in the guitar and bass tracks. Add to that a pretty pedestrian series of LOOPS for a drum track, and you can imagine my dissatisfaction!
Now along comes a new MJ cover challenge, and with it the opportunity for a partial re-do---and a complete remix---of Ridd’s beautiful song. Add to that Scott Fugate’s BRILLIANT drum track in place of my dull loops, and you can imagine my SATISFACTION! Since I am outside the rules of the current Cover Challenge---specifically rule #2---I am releasing this cover both early and independent of said challenge. I do hope though that it will inspire the true participants of the challenge, if only a little... http://www.macjams.com/song/64673 I'm rather proud of this one, as it features what may well be my best lead-guitar and keyboard work. Be well all! |
