MIDI Issue In Kontakt 4 ???
Wednesday, June 13 2012 @ 09:20 AM CDT

Hi

I recently purchased Galaxy ll and Vintage D Piano Libraries from BS. I've installed both Libraries on an internal 7200 RPM Drive and all is well, except I'm having an issue with the MIDI set up, which in Kontakt 4 looks "complicated"

How do i get my Yamaha P155 Digital Piano to work as the MIDI device to play the G2 Pianos ? I've already set up a Yamaha UX16 MIDI interface cable going from MIDI out of the DP to MIDI in of the Mac, but it still won't play.

what settings do i need to configure in KP4 to set up the correct MIDI channel ?

I assume you've had no problems loading and playing these libraries into Kontakt 4? You should be able to use the standalone for Kontakt, load the libraries into it and get them to play with Kontakt's onboard keyboard. I ask because a lot of the new libraries require the later versions of Kontakt. So you've loaded the libraries into kontakt and made sound with them without trying to trigger them right?

the newest version of Kontakt is 5.02 if I'm not mistaken so v 4 is older. That is the first thing I'd like to know.

Thats right! but I'm trying to play the libraries NOT with KP4s onboard keyboard but with the Yamaha P155 as the MIDI device. I've set up Kontakt to receive on channel 1- A and my P155 MIDI set up is also set to MIDI channel 1.

So why won't the P155 play the Libraries ?

Yes, like Harold asks, Are you trying to trigger using standalone mode, or through a host DAW as a plugin?

UPDATED DRIVERS!!! that was the issue, i thought the Drivers on the UX16 installation disc was the one to install, "how silly of me" a lesson learnt.

Thanks for all your support.
