I'm with JET on this one. The only reason you would need the pick-up is for live performance, which will be a while yet. I say start investing in some equipment to record her playing, i.e. a decent mic and an audio interface.

I have a Schatten transducer pick-up that you just put adhesive on and reach in the soundhole to affix it to the body underneath the saddle. It requires a pre-amp, and it sounds amazing. Still, for recording I use my large diaphragm mic. Sometimes I will also use the pick-up and record both mic and line-in, just so I have more options with tone, but my primary recording technique is always mic.
