Nerd alert!
Wednesday, September 19 2012 @ 11:56 AM CDT
No music here....
This is a video about the new computer we're getting. In fact, the whole center pitches in with the work. You can see me putting my math phd to good use at 0:40. Victor. -- My CD. Use coupon code "macjams" on BandCamp. |

Cool promo video, and an impressive data center (makes our local University of California San Diego Supercomputer center not so super anymore!) Congratulations for getting your right ear in the video, Victor. I enjoyed the time-lapse videos too. And since we're talking nerdy, I can get away with saying "Nice Rack mount!" and not get slapped :-) Now, how much per minute to rent some time on that? I could have run my ray-tracer on there and it would have created my entire (130 hours of render time on my Macs) movie in about a minute!
ttfn, Drakonis - - - it was not. it will not be. it simply is. |

We are an academic center, and the machine was funded by the National Science Foundation, so if you're a university researcher and you can make a case that you need this machine, you get time free of charge. Victor. -- My CD. Use coupon code "macjams" on BandCamp. |

It gives me hope for the future. Thank you, NSF. Interesting video. Thanks for the post.
My music is much better than it sounds. |
