Maybe the i-Pad is the answer, to get back that feel of holding a piece of artwork, lyrics, liner notes, artist, recording and instrument info in your hands while digging on the tunes. The only thing is, it can't give ya a lava lamp and incense.

Going back to my room to listen to
Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida .......and the Chambers Brothers TIME through my trusty Koss PRO 4AA's

I know who I am and you know who you are, but who and the hell do they think they are?

No. I use Garageband pretty much every other day, on my Mac. The industry killed itself, and Bon Jovi helped. I remember liking Slippery When Wet, but I forgive myself, because I was 10 years old.

Okay. I have to confess. I actually went to see them in concert on the Slippery When Wet tour, but I can explain. There was this really hot redhead...

Anyways, as I was saying before the internet so rudely interrupted me....

I also had the same problem except it was Justin Timberlake, and a blonde.

I think Napster's to blame... then Steve pounced on the opportunity.

This has probably already been mentioned... but I sat here listening to the amazing music present on MJ and perhaps what BJ is talking about is not just the feel the album in your hands but the fact that just about anyone with a little training, a Mac, an instrument and a Mic can make some AMAZING music... way better than what could be done in studios as of 1980...

For my wife:
She seems so real

product price place promotion

I shudder to think music is product but that's what the industry calls it. I am 50 to me quality sank in the 80s rebounded a little in the 90s then plain tanked.

price -- CDs were going for close to 20 bucks. I bought like, 2 at that price.

place -- it wasn't fun shopping for CDs. flipping through racks of those antitheft lucite monstrosities at walmart? ugh.

promotion -- used to be radio but for me that went in the tank around 2000 as well. I know -- I was there :-(

information wants to be free and you can't compete with free. everyone wants everything free. people love free stuff! with napster they had everything and it was all free. the place? your home on your computer. promotion = word of mouth like wildfire and then the media jumped in and metallica lol.

every song for free anytime and you get to keep it forever. only a dolt would by a $20 cd with that going on -- and people aren't that dumb.

I would like to say for the record I stopped downloading copyrighted stuff for free a few years ago. my conscience quit allowing it. but for a few years there it was the wild wild west and I explored. I owe some artists some money.

worst thing that happened I found chocolate watchband's guitarist online and we were emailing back and forth. I'm a fan and this guy was friendly and really cool :-) he eventually offered to send me some CDs of cwb stuff no charge and I foolishly admitted I had their music off napster. he never emailed again even after I apologized :-(

a lot of those old school artists depended on the royalty checks especially a psych band like that getting practically nothing BMI or ASCAP since no one plays them anymore :-(

anyway I owe some bands artists and songwriters some money hopefully I'll make it right before I shuffle off -- or they do. none of us are getting any younger

And there's nothing you can do about that, by the way.

Mr. Jobs is one of the most important people on this planet and we should be grateful that he's still around.

(my cousin grew up with him, so I might be a bit bias.)

I don't know, but...

Then MTV killed the video star.
