Interesting , so you use it on both lead and rhythm ? do you mean you keep it on all the time ? «Blues is easy to play, but not to feel » (Jimi Hendrix) |

Hey Feter, yes I use it for all sorts of applications. I even use it for a boost. It can be used as an "always on" sound enhancer. I play through a Deluxe Reverb a lot lately, with no gain control so I sometimes use it for that as my dirty sound. In that scenario I might use a boost pedal as well, or use the guitar volume. |

Oops. Double post. That reminds me, I'd like to have a second OCD pedal. |

I have a Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic with real tubes in it for pretty much the same thing you do. It just adds that extra 'uuuuuhhh!!' to everything. |

Hey there,
last month I bought a 65 Super Reverb and a American Deluxe Tele, sounds great!! I just got a volume pedal, a Boss compressor and a Maxon VOP-9 and I love the stuff. Back in the days when I played an Ibanez Artist through a Roland Jazz Chorus I remember that I felt like something is missing but now everything is in place. A tube amp is the REAL thing!! |

Played an Artist for 3 or 4 years in the 90s - I'm left-handed so the double cut was important - pretty, pretty guitar and good-sounding and playing - I believe the guy who bought it from me is still using it. Sounded best tuned up to F# with 10s - made a huge difference. When I tried 11s, it just went dead. Anyway, the day came when it needed a fret job, and because I had gigs to play, I grabbed a MIM strat (lh, bonus). I hated that strat, I thought. 'Til the Artist came back. New frets made it stiff and unwieldy, and nothing felt right. I played it twice before deciding to sell it on. That started a strat search that culminated in a lh Godin LGXT - VERY nice, very versatile guitar. 24. What pedal you recommend to keep it on
while you are playing rhythm then when you switch to your lead pick up with higher volume will help you to have a powerful tone ? «Blues is easy to play, but not to feel » (Jimi Hendrix) |

Kind of a tricky one. I've always found that the difference between clean and dirty in volume playing this way too great to be practical unless you're driving the power tubes pretty hard, which tends to be pretty damn loud. That said, it's very much the most organic way to vary your tone - it doesn't sound totally different when you turn up, the way a fuzz or distortion suddenly turned on can. With Marshalls, if only because of Jimi, the Fuzz-Face is the go-to pedal for this application (MUST be 1st in line on your board). 24. Playing in a Trio is very tricky , I m the only guitarist no keys to back me up and the bass the only boom , The band play some power old rock stuffs but not much Fuzz needed more than straight dirty rhythm and lead. btw this problem of the Lead is not cuttin through the band only with my Les Paul my Epi EA 255 just perfect for my simple Setting ..I switch between pickups and ride so high cause the overdrive didnt response as the Les Paul so there s always a space to turn it up and go does the sustain compressor would help to boost the lead when I turn the toggle into the bridge pickup ? I ve alread have Boss SD do I need fuzz now or booster to add ? I know when I recorded last time at the Studio I was play total clean through Matchless Amp hot as hell then on lead I kick my Boss SD and it work perfect ...on gigs ...clean channel on crowded house is not a choice I need dirtier rhythm ! thanks «Blues is easy to play, but not to feel » (Jimi Hendrix) |
