It's easy to get out of the habit
Tuesday, July 03 2012 @ 07:42 AM CDT

I started to lose touch with MJ during prepartions for my step-daughter's wedding in May. A couple of weeks away without internet access further compounded the lack of contact.

Then a trapped nerve in the neck (which is still giving me grief) meant I couldn't play guitar and I lost interest in making music. Although I've had a brief contribution to a collab which initially gave me a real boost I haven't done much else musically.

I've had a listen to some of the new songs but not commented I'm afraid.

So apologies for that and I'll get back on-board eventually Smile

Cheers

Dick

I don't know why you guys apologize for having to live your lives. The injury sounds painful and apparently is debilitating but the wedding sounds like happiness for the family. You know where we are and we love to see you around but we sure understand that other things get in the way. Get better. Smile

I'm in the same boat at the moment in that I don't have a lot of time for music, I'm currently working on 3 collabs but they will happen when they happen. I guess we apologise as we genuinely enjoy being around on here but sometimes life gets in the way and I personally would love to be around here as much as I was last year.

Get well soon Dick by the way.

Wow, Harold those numbers are staggering...I knew this site was way down...but wow, that's just disturbing. I am not much of a "forum" guy, but the exodus from this place has been obvious in other areas. It's kind of ironic that the forum posts are a good gauge of activity but also a big player in the departure of key members. I was going to say "it's just a phase", but these numbers indicate otherwise.

it is my hope that some new challenges, like the upcoming Woodstock 2012 event might bring a few artists back. i also saw some interest in a new CBGB challenge as well...

It also seems to me that people are not commenting as much anymore aswell, I look at the trend of my songs and comments are on the decline as they are for other artists as well. There seems to be rarely anyone in chat and very few online at any one time. Strange????

Dick, it could very well be that you're the root cause of the general slow-down trend around here Razz

Interesting
i wonder how that graph might look compared to a similar graph showing the rise of facebook and/or twitter and the increasing use of ios devices over the same period...maybe thats part of the explanation...people have migrated to FB...so they post their stuff on there rather than on this forum - or the ios devices dont easily lend themselves to forum posting?

arent people just spending their time on FB rather than the chatroom/forum here now?

that would be great bill...im not sure it will be the same as the old challenges but sure hope it is (altho im not sure i have anything to contribute to a woodstock challenge but it will be cool to see what folks come up with)
