If they limited themselves to just singing together, I'd be all for it. Unfortunately, I suspect the experience would have them all 'working together' better and subsuming their individual mandates (read: to represent the people who elected them) into some horrible compromise that serves only their own interests.
For my money, they do far too much of that nonsense already! I'd prefer the representative I vote for to be steadfast in his or her principles and decidedly NOT learn to 'play nice' with all the deeply compromised, corrupt politicians scuttering around the Capital halls. Love, MoM |

Sure, if you could actually find one anymore. With special interests serving as the current Choir Master in the Capitol of our nation's capital, personal principals supersede personal principles. The long succession of governmental sour notes during the past decade or so compares favorably to Roseanne Barr's version of our national anthem.

Hey Joe, Now, that is getting the most out of a metaphor. At least Roseanne Barr's performance had a final note to sing and then she was off the stage. But when will this performance of the Congressional magical mystery tour end? Or, to segue into an allusion to another sixties' tune: Sometimes the light's all shinin' on me; Other times I can barely see. Lately it occurs to me, What a long strange trip it's been. |

Were I a betting woman, I'd have laid odds you'd have called me out for 'scuttering' (which is a word I made up) rather than my misspelling of 'capitol'. Nevertheless, you are indeed correct, Mr. Stewart. And I do agree with you about the superiority of Congressional squabbling to Ms Barr's singing: I, too, much prefer the disharmony of competing idealogies to the lock-step chorale proposed in the article you posted! Much love to you, MoM |

Just to be clear, I wasn't "calling you out" on anything. People make spelling mistakes and the usage of the homonymic Capitol and capital are among the most commonly misused. No big deal. And whatever "scuttering" means... I take no offense at people expressing their thoughts and opinions, unless they become abusive — which you were not.

So what kind of music would they make? Perhaps HOUSE music?
