It's better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't done.

I find nothing wrong with having a little personal accountability, just in case.

For Example:

What if i'm wrong about my lack of belief in a God? I go to hell or at the very least, I don't get to go to heaven. My ignorance only harms me and maybe my mom's feelings for a little while.

What if i'm wrong about my belief in Global Warming? I've saved money and made the world a cleaner place by conserving and recycling, driving a fuel efficient vehicle, I help out a local farmer/rancher by buying food grown close to me, I save water by the way I run my business.

On the flip-side, if you are ignoring global warming out of doubt, ignorance, convenience, laziness or out of the pure joy of being a contrarian, you are not only harming yourself but countless other human beings as well, and I hate that kind of thinking. If any of your actions or in this case, inaction, can possibly have a negative effect on the lives of others, you should reconsider your thinking, just in case you're wrong, because even though you may be one in 5 billion ignorant selfish bastards, it doesn't make you any less accountable for what happens.

Impeccable reasoning. It's a mystery to my why the deniers are so sure of themselves that they are completely opposed to doing anything.

This has nothing to do with facts: there is ideology & psychology behind it.

I believe the earth is living, the only problem the earth has is mankind, we are the cancer of the earth, I also believe that the earthquake that changed the earth tilt was a signal to the universe that the earth is grossly out of balance, so just like in the past the earth will be cleansed and a fresh new earth will emerge, or maybe not

it is funny how now in our day mankind has created a thousand ways to eradicate them selfs
at the rate of consumption it is estimated that in 20 years we will need 2 earths just to provide the resources for men to live their modern life style

but what do I know
let the intellectuals on this site tell it the way it is

I think it's important to include everyone in these talks. There may be some who have trouble defining their arguments in a clean and succinct manner. That can challenge me. But we mustn't let it keep us out of the conversation!
