We can delete our own comments and others can delete our comments on song pages, but once we hit the submit button in forums we've got a post that lives on forever or until we ourselves are deleted.

Sure, you can erase the meat of the post and even change the heading but the post is still there. It's usually the case that someone else has quoted you and even if you'd like to put the whole thing behind you, you can't. It's like a level of cyber torture, isn't it?

Whatever happened to that Beta site where you could delete a forum post?
