Yes, installed it and Logic Pro 9.1.7 works a treat in 64 bit and 32 bit mode.
Safari is lightning fast btw! Smile

Is Lion all ironed out yet?

How much did everyone spend by the time they upgraded any software that wouldn't work anymore after they upgraded the OS?

yes - 19.99 starts to look like less and less of a bargain doesnt it?

The only reason I had upgraded to Lion was because Apple did away with MobileMe/iDisk. I wanted to have things sync'ed between my Mac Pro at home, Mac Pro at work, Macbook pro, iPhone and iPad. Apparently I'm not throwing enough money at Apple. Or maybe I'm throwing too much their way and that's why they are making a 5 yr. old (expensive) machine obsolete.

And I am not impressed with Lion. It's really slow (compared to Snow Leopard) on my mid-2010 MacPro at work with Quad 2.8GHz Intel Xeon processors and 6Gb of ram.

I noticed a lot of people were bummed about the new Air Play feature only working on 2011 or newer machines. That would be the main reason I would download it.

I'll messaround with it at some point, real concern is if its server version will grant enhanced iOS device management.

As for the inability to run on many macs, its because MT Lion is only 64 bit and some of the older macs have 32 bit among their code. That's why the 2007 Pro won't do it. Not unless Apple were to rewrite the code for those models and it seems unlikely). Sucks but true. You can read more by doing a search if you want.

I primarily use 10.4 and 10.6 and haven't liked the changes in 10.7 I find even numbered versions have seemed better in my experience. Odd versions seemed to be the 'let's try this new crap out' releases. then even versions smoothed over the problems. Mostly.

If you're gonna mess with it DON'T before making a clone (carbon copy cloner, etc) that preserves your system as it is BEFORE the install. that way you can restore if you hate it or find that important programs failed. I also wouldn't advise upgrading any OS until a few weeks after its first incremental release ->10.8.1 to fix whatever issues will certainly appear now that its in use.

my greatest inspiration is my own damnation, pain is eternal
