It is absolutely true that the first industry attempts to “legitimize” the Internet simply sought to substitute one flavor of record-label monopoly for another.

They have no concept of “a marketplace” in which buyers and sellers can come together with nothing in-between them.   They have no concept of a world that they do not control.   And yet, in today’s hyper-connected reality, they also cannot make a sound business case for why they should control it.   When objectively considered from either the direct-producer’s or the direct-consumer&rsquos; point-of-view, the business justification simply is not there.
