Thursday, November 17 2005 @ 06:39 AM CST all praise the mghty critic. that has no music of his own..reminds me of when a friend of mine said that he thinks all people who listen to country are ideots, but somehow gets very defensive when i point out that it is just an oppinion...i think that if you have no talent and critisize about the level of others talent you are just a lowly consumer that contribute to the overwhelming consumsion of useless superficial details to mask their insecurities..the reason i don't listen to top 40 radio is because the dj's on those stations are really just trying to bring in the bucks for the station by filling it full of comercials about some gas guzzling 4x4..

Sorry. Er. [Coughs
On a complete tangent.
Well... actually yeah. I think that, more or less. That's why GB is so beautiful. I spent years learning instruments (though sadly that doesn't actually show). So I think it's great that someone who's never played a single ruddy note in thier lives can start playing tunes. Let's hear it for crappy loop tunes. I love them. Two things: One, there's nothing worse than someone thinks he's bought the keys to the castle and no-one else should be allowed in. Two, I know a few people who play instruments to virtuoso level, who know every last bit of theory, and who make music that is so profoundly dull even a five-year-old with a toy piano can do better. |

When it's all said and done, this is not about loops vs. actual instruments or talent vs. no talent. It's all about being a human being on the planet earth and finding the seat that has your name on it.
Since I've joined, I've tried to get enough points to put up a song. During that process, I've found a simply wondrous place here. Lots of people who know many others and all seem to genuinely love and care for their friends. Maybe all of you in this category have already found a seat that has your name on it here. That's sweet. That has nothing to with age. There are many older people still searching for their seat. For them, life is just one long game of musical chairs. While there are many very young people who are already seated and thriving in life. However, for the most part, you youngsters need to learn to use spell check. You have the fire of youth, don't lose that. It will carry you far. Passion fuels all creativity. The energy you unleased here is your power. Look how far this thread has gone. The kid who started this: this is a very important point to take notice of in your life. Even though this wasn't started as a thread it became one. Really think about what you said. See how people respond. How people respond in all sorts of ways. Figure it out. Use that. Kick ass, don't take any shit. Don't sniff glue. Learn to use spell check. Learn. |

If we must engage in grave digging here in the forums, can we at least bring back GOOD threads?

Nothing to do with energy, it's just that every time new people need their participation points for posting songs they decide to raise this from the dead. It's a bit like Jason from the Friday the 13th movie series⦠we don't need to see this again but every now & then someone gets it into their head that posting a reply to this monster is a good idea. Now if anyone brings back 'Eric Clapton' or 'Fast Is Pointless' to the top of the forum posts then I'm getting out my hockey mask and macheteā¦

Those people who keep ressurecting this ancient thread somehow always seem to not realize that the troll that they are making their comments to was booted from the site over a year ago and isn't reading any of the witty comebacks being made.
Newbies seem to do this a lot for some reason, like answering someone's question about a technical issue with GB1 and Panther from six months earlier that was long ago answered.
Sooooo sleepy. |
