I posted many pieces over the past two days, as I am an iComp refugee, and am re-establishing my portfolio online. If this is a new issue, then it may well be fellow 'iComperians' uploading music after the crash at that site. The solution works for me just fine. No one listens to my music anyway! LOL

you are one of the best and welcome to MJ ...its just took time
to be around and I think after the great chattin ..too many
knew you :-) wink enjoy your time !

I hope the other iCompers-come-MacJammers heed this caution well. No one should take it for granted that the MJ community has been very welcoming of us refugees, but doing something like multiple uploads all at once is just plain bad form, and does not foster a good relationship with the veterans here. I have several dozen songs myself, but only uploaded my most recent one.

iComp has a system that ony allows 2 songs per 4 hours maximum, well when iComps working that is, lol!

Anyways song flooding is bad form, but hey I've been in both sites for over three years so you get to know this stuff.

When I went to your page soulima and saw the tracks I couldn't help thinking, 'oh heck' anyways live and learn, live and learn Smile

Well, the problem's solved anyway - and a damn good solution, too, Can't help putting in my 2 cents, though; I don't think anyone was worried about someone uploading, say, a half-dozen tunes at once, what startd this thread was one new member uploading god knows how many songs over the period of a few days (certainly several dozen, maybe more than a hundred)

So what am I, chopped liver? Wink I have already listened to several of your tracks and am very impressed. I encourage everyone -- especially those listeners who like the classical genre -- to check out Soulima's music.

Even when iComp is back up&running, I hope that you continue to participate here, Soulima.

Shaky makes a good point here. I don't think anybody objects to modest multiple uploads or a-tune-a-day posting. What gets people peed off is the posting of huge blocks of songs all at once, because it pushes other artists off the front page. It's really frustrating if you post a song you've been working on for weeks and half an hour later someone decides to upload their entire life's work, shunting your song right down the list. Once a song has gone from the front page it's much harder to get noticed.

I don't think the iCompers are causing a problem ... I suspect it's somebody who's using MJ purely as a host site, and who isn't even bothering to read the forum.

Maybe we should suggest they move their work to freesound.org - I gave several tracks a listen, and they seem to be more "sounds" than "music" - yeah, I know there's huge grey area between those... Just a thought.
