Re:Geting tired of this - be honest please!
Friday, January 20 2006 @ 05:59 PM CST
On several occassions I have tried to spotlight songs that I feel are worthy of more attention than they get... and I'll keep doing that. But as far as I can see I am only one of a very small of members that do this regularly.
So rant all you want, if you want things to change you need to take the initiative and help to change it. Hear a song by another artist then go ahead and pimp it in the MJ Chat window, start a forum post... hell, do something. But just don't sit there and complain about it. As far as leaving comments and constructive criticism- there is a huge difference between just telling someone they suck and offering advice on where and how they might be able to improve their art. I'm all for honest feedback but I'm not at all for telling someone they should just give it all up because I may not like what they are doing. And I absolutely don't see the wrong in telling someone what I like. "An honest man's pillow is his peace of mind." John Mellencamp |

yes, telling someone to give up is stupid. i've been told to stop playing a million times, told i suck and even to go kill myself. then i found this site, where i got honest feedback with out simply tearing me down.. and look how far i've come and i'm still pushing. I'm no musician, just hopelessly in love. |

i think people will say when a song needs work. they may not say it's bad but will say what needs to be improved on.. my own music is a huge example of this. that's why i love mj it's the reason i've improved. so i'd strongly argue with you on this point. because i find that mj gives me alot of good feedback that helps me. maybe you don't recieve the same constructive feedback. but my experience has been different. I'm no musician, just hopelessly in love. |
